ガーナで行われた24週間の研究では、都市農業廃棄物を処理するための中温単段バイオガス消化槽（8 m3パイロットスケール）の性能が評価されました。30 °Cで様々な水理学的滞留時間（HRT）で稼働し、牛糞を接種源とし、様々な植物および動物性廃棄物を基質として使用しました。このシステムは毎日3 m3のバイオガス（メタン60%）を生成し、HRT 23日および26日では、ほとんどのパラメータにおいてHRT 20日よりも高い除去効率を示しました。
