Overview

The first garden of "Urban Gardening – Sofia", a pioneering Bulgarian city-gardening network founded by volunteers in 2012. Opened in 2015, it is the network's oldest garden still in operation in Sofia.

Citizen participation

Run without paid coordinators: decisions are taken by the gardeners themselves through direct democracy and votes. The site is divided into 32 plots of varying size, and the group describes roughly 50 people as directly involved.
