This work examines how urban agriculture emerged and developed globally and in Cuba, and how it can be a primary means to solve problems related to increasing quality of life and food security in cities. It also aims to deepen participatory methods as tools to characterize and train rural communities on the technological management of their productive systems and how to enhance agricultural biodiversity utilization.
