Urban Farm DB summary

This paper studied seven community gardens with varying organizational designs, objectives, and gardener motivations to investigate their influence on social cohesion. It found that in all cases, people interacted, got to know each other, and mutual help was widespread, concluding that community gardens contribute to social cohesion regardless of participants' primary motivations. Social aspects also provided added value for those primarily motivated by growing vegetables.
