Creating Learning Environments to Support Students Experiencing Stress: Qualitative Insights from an Extension-Community Partnership

This study describes an Extension-Community partnership that designed learning environments to support elementary students experiencing chronic stress in the United States. The intervention included creating a calming room, building a community garden on school grounds, and providing educational programming for teachers, staff, and families. Interviews with 20 teachers and school staff revealed the program's success in supporting positive outcomes for students, staff, the school, and the surrounding community.
