A descriptive study in Debre Markos Town, Ethiopia, involving 152 farmers/enterprises and 8 officials, identified major types of urban agriculture, stakeholders, environmental challenges, and benefits. Findings indicated that animal husbandry is the most common urban agricultural activity, and stakeholders' environmental concern was very low. 55.9% of urban agriculture's environmental challenges, such as waste dumping, soil loss, and biodiversity loss, were attributed to a lack of environmental attention.
