This systematic review synthesized literature on physical and mental health outcomes associated with community gardening, focusing on quantitative studies. Eight eligible studies were reviewed, with seven rated as good methodological quality. The review found that community gardeners had significantly better outcomes than non-gardening neighbors in life satisfaction, happiness, general health, mental health, and social cohesion.
