A qualitative descriptive study examined the use of the open space between two road lanes on Frans Seda Street in Fatululi, Kupang City (population 423,800 across 6 sub-districts and 51 urban villages), the capital of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, where local residents grow vegetables. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews and literature review. The space is planted with both ornamental and food crops, and the study describes it as an example of urban agriculture during the Covid-19 outbreak that realizes ecological, economic, socio-cultural and aesthetic functions.
