This article examines small-scale green spaces developed on underutilized land in inner-city Adelaide, South Australia. Through three case studies—a café, a bar, and a community garden—it investigates how familiar domestic outdoor design characteristics have been used for placemaking in commercial settings, bringing a sense of "home" to the city's commercial center.
