This chapter investigates how everyday designers function as placemakers, advancing the understanding of sustainability in human-computer interaction. Through an autobiographical study of a camper van interior and an ethnographic study of community gardeners in Vancouver, Canada, the research identifies three common themes in creating sustainable places: longevity, unfinishedness, and multiplicity in placemaking.
