This paper defines "Vague Farms" as projects in urban vacant spaces that combine urban gardening and local food production with the preservation of informal and spontaneous characteristics of "Terrain Vague." It analyzes five case studies from different European cities to illustrate the emergence of these practices. The study provides a theoretical introduction to Terrain Vague, examines community urban garden projects through the lens of Urban Commons, and proposes a definition of Vague Farms and their characteristics.
