This study examines two case studies of urban farms in the United States: the South Central Farm in Los Angeles, California, and Marra Farm in Seattle, Washington. These sites and their embedded political and social processes reveal much about current food systems and struggles for justice. The research focuses on the conscious strategies immigrant communities utilize to reinvent space in these urban sites, forming place-based resistance and project identities.
