This study examined the socio-economic viability and sustainability of vegetable cultivation in urban clusters, specifically the Narkara belt of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. Analyzing primary data from 60 urban vegetable growers and market functionaries, the research found that vegetable farming substantially contributes to household income and nutrition. It also suggests that institutional support and market reforms could enhance its performance, proposing recommendations for urban agricultural policy.
