Allotments on the roof of Abeno Harukas Kintetsu flagship. MyFarm has run it since April 2023—an emblematic high-rise rooftop for grow-your-own and urban community.
Citizen participation
Hands-free allotments with on-site advisors, tools, water and lockers. Seasonal planting, harvest and cooking events; popular with families.
Operating model
MyFarm-run rooftop experience farm on a department-store roof (about ¥105,000/year per plot at launch). Operations moved from Toho Leo’s Machinaka Saien model in April 2023.
Impact
Puts soil in a terminal shopping complex, making urban grow-your-own visible on everyday errand routes.

A membership rental garden opened in 2009 on the rooftop of the Atre Ebisu station building directly connected to JR Ebisu Station. Aozora Noen
