GrowNYC Community Garden Green Infrastructure (rainwater & rain gardens)

GrowNYC has built more than 120 rainwater-harvesting systems, rain gardens and bioswales in community gardens and schools across the city. In combined-sewer New York, these capture and reuse rainwater on site, diverting over a million gallons a year from the sewer system while enabling citizens to grow more food, conserve water and improve water quality.
