A community organic garden in Comas, in the largely rainless megacity of Lima, run largely by elderly migrant women — a citizen-led urban farm fostering food security, climate adaptation and community ties.
Citizen participation
A community garden where elderly residents — especially women who migrated from the highlands with farming backgrounds — reconnect with their agricultural heritage, working together to tend the plots and grow and share vegetables.

A citizen-led initiative run on residents' collective work and mutual aid, aimed at self-provisioning and sharing food and at fostering neighbourhood connection.
Impact
In a dry urban setting it provides residents with fresh food and a place to belong, drawing on migrants' knowledge and dignity, and stands as an example of Lima's citizen urban agriculture.

Nerima Ward Agricultural Experience Farms
