Overview
Residents jointly steward a former municipal housing site in Shioya, Tarumi—not private allotments but club-style growing of veg, herbs and grapes with shared harvests and picnics.
Citizen participation
Work mornings on the 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday; club-style teams for gardening, herbs, grapes, picnics and civil works. Open to all; harvest is shared, not private plots. Also runs the Shioya circular project on food waste and green waste.
Operating model
A neighbourhood vacant-land stewardship project under the Shioya machizukuri association, supported in part by city community grants.
Impact
A hillside community hub that pairs vacant-site maintenance with circular resources and a shared place to gather.
