Overview
Twenty-four ecological urban garden plots created by the city of Soria on what had been a run-down industrial edge in the Los Royales district. Part of the European-funded BRERA urban-renewal programme, the project 'renaturalises' a site of more than 7,000 m² to promote biodiversity and social cohesion. Inaugurated on 27 August 2026, it enters service in spring 2027 and brings the municipal total to 104 plots.
Citizen participation
The plots are worked by Soria residents. The council allocates them first to retired people and, if any remain, opens them to all citizens — mayor Javier Antón said that "if spaces remain available, we will extend access to the entire citizen body". The gardens were inaugurated on 27 August 2026 and enter service in spring 2027.
Operating model
A municipal facility built with a €250,000 investment as the last action of BRERA, a European-funded programme with a €4 million total that is reshaping the city's periphery. The council runs it.
Impact
The municipal allotment stock grows by 30 per cent, from 80 plots to 104. As the gardens are not yet in service, no participation or harvest figures exist.
