Overview

An Afro-Indigenous community farm that gives free home gardens to city residents in the Albany area and saves and shares seeds of African, Indigenous and Palestinian heritage crops, reclaiming ancestral farming and food culture to end food apartheid.

Citizen participation

Provides no-cost raised-bed gardens (materials, seedlings, soil, labor, guidance) to city residents facing food apartheid, plus food-justice workshops for urban youth.

Operating model

Nonprofit funded by donations, grants and training programs; heritage seeds distributed via Truelove and Ujamaa Seeds.

Advances urban food sovereignty and ancestral-crop conservation, reaching many thousands annually.
