Les Oliviers shared garden (L'Ariane district, Nice, France)
Nice (L'Ariane), France · Operator: Animanice ラリアンヌ(ニース市の地区運営組織)
Overview
A shared garden opened at 1 rue Sicou in the L'Ariane district of eastern Nice, inaugurated at 3pm on 8 July 2026. The 500 m² tree-planted plot had long worried residents as a site of recurrent antisocial use and sanitary problems; the city rehabilitated it into twenty growing plots for neighbourhood associations, families and schools.
Citizen participation
Twenty growing plots are allotted to neighbourhood associations, families and schools. Animanice of the L'Ariane district handles plot allocation and on-site activities.
Operating model
A municipally created public shared garden: the city developed the site and the district's Animanice runs it.
Impact
A plot residents had avoided now sees regular use by local associations, families and schools. The city frames the project as strengthening social cohesion, intergenerational and intercultural contact, and awareness of ecology, healthy local food and urban biodiversity.
