Overview

A pilot community garden started by the Institute for Art and Culture in Sher Shah Colony, a low-income neighbourhood off Raiwind Road in Lahore. Sited at a government girls' high school, the workshops covered health and nutrition, the economics of growing your own, and season-appropriate vegetables.

Citizen participation

Seventy students and ten teachers at a government girls' high school in a low-income neighbourhood took part under principal Zebun Nisa, in eight workshops from 13 October to 8 December 2020 covering bed preparation, soil mixes, and sowing and transplanting.

Operating model

Run as an outreach programme of IAC, with support from Gardening for All and The Little Arts and Adventure Foundation Pakistan.

Impact
