School Gardens in Vietnam (Food Plant Solutions)

Ho Chi Minh City (Thu Duc), Vietnam · Operator: AOG World Relief Vietnam with Food Plant Solutions (Rotary)

Overview

A case of school and community gardens with nutrition education in Vietnam's Tam Phu and Dai Hung areas, responding to preschool malnutrition rates of 11.1% and 19.8%. Nutrient-dense, climate-suited plants are grown and added to children's meals such as soups and rice porridge.

Citizen participation

An NGO programme in which AOG World Relief Vietnam, partnering Food Plant Solutions, runs school and community gardens and nutrition education in areas such as Tam Phu and Dai Hung. Community members themselves develop action plans and mobilise local resources to improve children's nutrition.
