Overview

A Kyotanabe employment-support workshop operating since 2011 that grows regional specialties (Uji tea, Tanabe eggplant, Kyoto taro) and became one of the first Noufuku JAS certified businesses in 2019.

Citizen participation

Members with hearing and other disabilities handle tea picking, seedling raising, Kyoto-vegetable growing, matcha confectionery, sales, and a cafe in an integrated operation.

A Type-B continuous employment support workshop run by a social welfare corporation, integrating production, processing, and sales and branded via Noufuku JAS certification.

Impact

Repositions people with disabilities as needed contributors to the local community, pioneering the 'Kyoto-style' agriculture-welfare model and certified branding.
