The program's outcomes, including e-books and videos, align with the village's mission to foster a competitive, advanced, independent, and prosperous society. This initiative aims to enhance citizen productivity, broaden insights, and support resident welfare through urban farming, agritourism, and processed food innovations.

In Bromo Hamlet, Kalinegoro Village, Indonesia, the KKN GNRM program on urban farming was held to maintain food security during the COVID-19 pandemic. This program aimed to provide knowledge, insight, and experience to boost organic vegetable production on narrow land through hydroponic training. The KKN GNRM increased public awareness of urban farming and hydroponics as a source of food security during the pandemic.

To address declining millennial interest in agriculture at SMA WIJAYA PUTRA in Surabaya, a Millennial Farmer School program was implemented to provide education and guidance on hydroponic urban farming. The program utilized education, training, mentoring, and evaluation methods. Results showed that 80% of students developed an interest in hydroponic cultivation, and 84% acquired hydroponic cultivation skills.

This community service activity provided assistance to the Agrowidyawisata Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in Rajabasa Jaya, Bandar Lampung City, Indonesia, to address the underutilization of the Agrowidyawisata Sinar Harapan village as an urban agriculture educational tourism area, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods included interviews, questionnaires, site surveys, spatial analysis, and discussions with Pokdarwis to identify facility needs and define spatial arrangement concepts. The assistance enabled Pokdarwis to develop ideas for village arrangement based on thematic tourism potential, plan culinary markets, create tourist routes for small plots, and establish a communal space in a former workshop for gathering and marketing.

This study evaluated the effectiveness of hydroponic training implemented in Surabaya City, using descriptive qualitative analysis and a 5-point Likert scale survey for all participants. The evaluation results showed that 94.12% of the implementation met "good" criteria and 5.88% met "very good" criteria. It was concluded that this training is highly effective in supporting the urban farming program in Surabaya.

In Dusun Walang, Sukoharjo, Indonesia, community service activities introduced urban farming to millennial generation members of a youth organization to increase their interest in agriculture. The activities involved counseling and practice on urban farming concepts, household waste management, and verticulture. Evaluation using pretest, posttest, and practice assessment showed 93% partner involvement and an 85% increase in understanding of urban farming cultivation, from an initial 54% to 100% after the activity.

A project at SDN Tulusrejo 3 in Malang city, Indonesia, aimed to organize the school environment and provide understanding of the Adiwiyata program by arranging the school yard into a waste treatment area to support environmental health. Methods included mapping productive land, counseling, and school garden planning. The project achieved nearly 80% of its goal, resulting in a more organized and comfortable school environment compared to its state before the arrangement.

It aims to promote urban farming methods like hydroponics, biofloc catfish farming, maggot cultivation, and organic waste processing into eco-enzymes.

In Bener village, Tegalrejo, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, a community service activity was conducted to introduce urban farming and the practice of fruit cultivation in pots (Tabulampot). The activity included urban farming socialization, planting media preparation, introduction of guava varieties, and transplanting and maintenance practices. The practical planting and direct mentoring proved effective in encouraging residents to implement urban farming in their environment.

This community service activity involved providing outreach and training on microgreen cultivation to the WES (Women and Environmental Studies) community in Kota Metro, Indonesia. The activity concluded that participants were able to enhance their knowledge regarding microgreens. It is hoped that participants can apply microgreen cultivation skills, which will impact the improvement of healthy lifestyles and strengthen family food security.

This Community Service program aimed to educate residents of PCM Cengkareng Barat, Jakarta, Indonesia, about plastic waste, recycle plastic waste for microgreens planting media, and encourage urban farming of microgreens to meet family nutrition during the pandemic. The program utilized the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method. The outcome was an increased ability and knowledge among partners regarding plastic waste utilization and new methods for urban farming microgreens.

A microgreens cultivation socialization activity was conducted in Jemur Wonosari village, Surabaya City, Indonesia. Participants included representatives from farmer groups and all RW (community association) heads of Jemur Wonosari village, using vegetable seeds, rockwool, water, cocopeat, microgreens trays, and water sprays. The activity positively impacted the community's knowledge of urban farming systems, particularly beyond hydroponics, indicating microgreens could be an alternative for maintaining household-level food security.

Through participatory training and mentoring, the activity successfully increased participants' knowledge of utilizing home yards, leading to the adoption of hydroponic vegetable cultivation in their homes.

This qualitative study examined the environmental communication strategies and models used by the Makassar Berkebun urban farming community in Makassar, South Sulawesi, to introduce urban agriculture concepts. Data were obtained through interviews and literature review. Findings indicate the community applies four communication strategies: socialization, campaigns, education, and training, utilizing mechanistic and interactional communication models, specifically those of David K Berlo (1960) and Schramm (1954).

This action research in Mataram City during the COVID-19 pandemic introduced Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices to urban farming groups. Group discussions revealed that while participants were interested in developing fresh vegetables and fruits and found benefits in meeting family food needs, most members were unfamiliar with environmentally friendly cultivation techniques, particularly IPM.

This study aimed to describe the agricultural management skills of an urban farming group (20 people) in Keben Permai village, Malang, Indonesia, after receiving empowerment through mentoring and training in agricultural management. Conducted as action research, skill data was obtained through observation sheets. The results showed that the agricultural management skills of the Keben Permai urban farming group were in the "very good" category, indicating that members possess very good skills to manage agriculture.

The A Bee Honey group in Gampong Alue Awe, Muara Dua subdistrict, implemented a pilot program for Trigona honey bee cultivation from August to November 2022. Despite its potential as an income source, honey supply does not consistently meet demand, and a lack of understanding regarding cultivation and economics reduces consumer interest. The community also does not fully comprehend the advantages and potential of trigona bee cultivation. Training was provided to educate the community on its potential as an alternative income source, resulting in five family heads joining the program.

A community service activity in Simpang Tiga Village, Pekanbaru City, Indonesia, aimed to socialize the importance of utilizing idle land for food crop cultivation. The activity provided counseling and practical training on proper food crop planting techniques to residents of RW 02 RT 01. Results showed that the community was receptive to the knowledge, actively practiced the techniques, and increased their understanding of urban farming and environmental conservation.

In India, indigenous ethnic vegetables are underestimated for their nutritional and economic value and are underutilized, despite their potential to improve human nutrition. Urban populations often prefer less nutritious exotic vegetables due to the greater availability of ethnic vegetables in rural areas. The study suggests increasing the cultivation of these nutrient-dense vegetables in urban and peri-urban areas through home gardening and urban farming to enhance supply for urban residents.

A systematic review of 12 articles, identified from an initial search of 43 research articles on PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar, examined urban farming in Indonesia. The review found that urban farming can increase family food security, with vegetables and fruits being common crops. Identified problems included communication issues and varying levels of knowledge and skills related to urban farming.

An aquaponics cultivation technique training was conducted from August to December 2021 in the Sungai Ulin Village community in Banjarbaru City. This activity aimed to increase the use of polyculture technology in urban areas and improve the survival rate of aquaponics products. Evaluation results showed an 80% survival rate for vegetables and 75% for fish, indicating improved knowledge and skills among participants.

This program aimed to ensure family food security and improve mental health for residents of RW V during the pandemic, using methods such as socialization, workshops, and training. The results showed that RW V residents were enthusiastic about urban farming and capable of growing vegetables. Additionally, mothers, especially housewives, reported feeling mentally healthier due to new activities and a focus on hydroponic urban farming.
