Overview
The 'Satozukuri 48' community-cocreation project regenerated the former Block 48 of Hinosato Danchi (1971, once Kyushu's largest) in Munakata, Fukuoka, into the mixed hub 'Hinosato 48' with a nursery, DIY workshop and an on-site brewery in 2021; the on-site 'Hinosato Farm' lets multiple generations interact through farming and food.
Citizen participation
At 'Hinosato Farm' on the complex grounds, local residents of all generations take part in growing and harvesting as a community-building space; the monthly 'Odekake 48' sells bento and local-farm vegetables at the meeting hall while offering watch-over and health consultations for seniors.
Operating model
A community-cocreation regeneration, 'Satozukuri 48', joining UR and Munakata City with private firms (Toho Leo, Saibu Gas); sustained by tenant income, brewing, the farm and events at the fully renovated 'Hinosato 48' block in an industry-government-academia partnership.
