Ikutacho Park Saien community garden, Chuo Ward, Kobe

JPKobe (中央区), Japan

A citizen-participation community garden based in Ikutacho Park, near Shin-Kobe station, created as part of Kobe City's "Kobe Saien Project". Alongside vegetable growing it focuses on making sustainable living tangible — composting, resource cycling and soil building. The operators describe composting not as waste disposal but as "a small doorway into the cycle that connects people, neighbourhood and nature", aiming to start local cycling from curiosity and enjoyment rather than from environmental problems framed as difficult.
