Tomoiki Farm (Kanagawa Prefectural Office rooftop)

Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan · Operator: 株式会社AGRIKO(委託元:神奈川県 福祉子どもみらい局共生推進本部室)

Overview

Opened August 2026 on the Kanagawa Prefectural Office east-building terrace. Aquaponics links food education, agri-welfare work and community-building in a civic rooftop space, making ‘living together with nature’ visible ahead of GREEN×EXPO 2027.

Citizen participation

Users of disability-support facilities join planting, nursery work, harvest and daily care to raise local wages. Children’s circular-system tours and processed-food projects will follow. Open on weekdays with the prefectural office; weekends/holidays mainly for events.

Operating model

AGRIKO operates under Kanagawa Prefecture commission, installing aquaponics on the office rooftop—using bamboo and scrap timber—as a public–private practice of the prefecture’s coexistence charter.
