Overview
Opened September 2025 on the roof of Landport Yokohama Sugita. Japan’s first grow smart community farm on a multi-tenant logistics building, expanding from worker co-growing toward neighbourhood exchange and resilience.
Citizen participation
Facility workers choose crops and share sowing, watering and thinning, guided by grow CONNECT and the app. Plans include opening food–farm experiences to neighbours, with Edo heirloom seeds and Sugita plum-themed content.
Operating model
Plantio installs a grow farm on Nomura Real Estate and IHI’s open-share logistics roof as a worker third place, linked to the LandHOOP plaza for community events and disaster readiness.
Impact
Embeds shared cultivation in logistics space, modelling worker wellbeing, neighbourhood contact and everyday disaster awareness together.
