A prototype digital farming system was developed for farmer groups in Indonesia, based on participatory action research. This system integrates IoT technologies such as Arduino UNO, solar panels, soil moisture sensors, temperature sensors, and automated irrigation. The prototype helps monitor and automate routine processes, enabling farmers to maintain the quality of planting media, which was deemed crucial for easier and more efficient plant growth and development.

Rapid urbanization in China has weakened urban communities, making community restructuring an important issue. In Shanghai, urban agriculture initiatives like community gardens and rooftop farms are increasing, emphasizing social functions such as resident exchanges. While these new types of urban agriculture are promoted by social entrepreneurs, few studies have focused on the relationships between the creative class and communities in urban agriculture.

This study investigated strategies for promoting edible landscapes in urban communities, focusing on the San-He community in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. Using in-depth interviews and non-participant observation, the research found that edible landscapes offer social, economic, and cultural benefits but face challenges in marketing, government policies, and growing techniques. Place branding strategies were identified as effective in addressing these challenges.

In Muncul fish farm, Banyuwangi, Indonesia, a community partnership program was introduced to enhance catfish production using a bucket farming system. This program significantly improved catfish productivity and profitability through the application of humic acid, and participants gained knowledge and skills in intensive bucket fish farming, increasing their productivity and income.

This study investigated residents' willingness to participate in urban edible landscaping in Hefei, China, using an extended Theory of Planned Behavior model and an online questionnaire survey. Findings indicate that participation intention is influenced by perceived benefits and costs, attitudes, perceived behavioral control, and subjective norms. Multi-group analyses also revealed moderating effects of past behavior, age, and gender.

This community service activity focused on the Empelan Terbin Farmer Group in Denpasar City, which practices urban agriculture but faces challenges in distributing and selling its produce. The group's agricultural products were often only shared locally or discarded due to excess harvest, indicating a lack of effective sales channels. To address this, the activity provided training and assistance in digital marketing via Facebook to help the group introduce its products to a wider audience and generate profit for sustainable land management.

To ensure the sustainability of urban farming in apartment complexes in the Republic of Korea, this study explored the possibility of targeting apartments as urban farming sites. It derived and analyzed the importance of urban farming initiation indicators, finding that "public funding" and "technical and management support" are the most important factors. Based on these findings, policy directions are proposed to facilitate urban farming in apartment complexes.

A qualitative descriptive study with 13 fourth-grade students at MIN 1 Karanganyar, Indonesia, found that the Adiwiyata program's greenhouse initiative was not running smoothly due to a lack of funds. The students' ecoliteracy in the "head" and "heart" aspects needed improvement, as most did not habitually sort waste despite knowing types, and some lacked empathy for plants. However, students demonstrated ecoliteracy in the "hands" aspect through proper cleaning tool use, bringing supplies from home, and saving electricity and water.

A community assistance activity was conducted in Penanggungan Village, Malang City, Indonesia, aiming to improve knowledge and skills in plant maintenance for urban farming in a densely populated residential area with limited cultivation land. Although residents were already practicing urban farming, plant maintenance was not optimal. The activity, which included preparation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, data analysis, and reporting, resulted in positive impacts such as better plant arrangement and increased knowledge among the residents.

This quantitative study, with 202 respondents in Makassar, Indonesia, analyzed the effect of knowledge, perceptions, and attitudes on consumer intention to buy houses with an urban farming concept. Data was processed using SPSS and SEM with a PLS approach. The knowledge variable did not directly affect consumer buying interest, but it did indirectly affect it when mediated by attitude and perception variables. Perception and attitude variables had a significant direct effect on consumer buying interest, and high prices were also found to affect buying interest.

This community service project in Malang City, Indonesia, aimed to increase harvests for the Cemara Hijau women farmers' group and support food security in urban housing areas. The project implemented a hydroganic system and provided training to improve harvest effectiveness. The results indicate the potential for expanding the hydroganic movement to involve more residents and address contemporary food security challenges.

This study analyzes the "Plant What You Eat" concept implemented by the Makassar Gardening Community in Makassar, Indonesia, in response to the global food crisis and decreasing agricultural land. Using a Daily Politics approach, the study found that the community's daily politics involved forming collective action, encouraging public political participation, and building local, national, and international networks to promote urban farming.

This community service project in a remote area of Palembang, Indonesia, aimed to empower local mothers through urban farming (hydroponics) to generate additional family income. Activities included counseling, land preparation, hydroponic system installation, seeding, maintenance, training, and product marketing. The project resulted in partners independently conducting hydroponic planting and selling agricultural products with higher profits than initial capital.

A study in Bandung, Indonesia, surveyed 321 households to assess urban agriculture's contribution to household food fulfillment and income. The findings showed an insignificant 9% contribution to food fulfillment and a 41.5% contribution to income. This limited impact was attributed to metropolitan complexities, including restricted land access and increasing commercialization.

This qualitative study examined the community empowerment model through urban farming in the Orchid Women Farmer Group (KWT) in Bara-Barayya Village, Makassar City, Indonesia. Using the CIPOO model approach, the study found that while some aspects of the empowerment model were not fully met, the overall empowerment results in urban farming at the Orchid KWT were effective. This led to increased resource utilization and community harmony among participants.

This study used the Analytical Network Process (ANP) method with expert respondents to determine urban farming development priorities in Magelang, Indonesia. The social dimension was identified as the overall sustainability priority. Key priorities across dimensions included women farmers' income and motivation, land availability, cultivation technology, and agricultural extension roles, leading to integrated agriculture as the priority strategy.

This study describes assistance provided to Agro Wates in Semarang City, Indonesia, which has been an urban farming site since 2018. The assistance aimed to help managers develop agro-business management through educational tourism, utilizing methods such as agro potential analysis, educational tourism program guidance, and FGDs. The outcome included the establishment of three management concepts for Agro Wates as an educational tourism destination and increased confidence among managers as tour guides.

This study proposes the application of sustainable architecture for urban farming facilities in Surabaya City, Indonesia, to address basic needs exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The design integrates communal spaces and cultivation facilities with household waste processing and efficient resource maximization. It utilizes a slab building form with indoor cultivation areas oriented towards the sun, supported by solar panels and rainwater harvesting systems, based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods.

This community service activity, conducted in the Rungkut Barata residential area of Surabaya, Indonesia, focused on empowering the elderly. The activity disseminated techniques for pot farming, hydroponics, aquaponics, and vertical gardens, with participation from elderly farmer groups. As a result, a vegetable garden was established, and its products were sold to the local elderly group.

This study investigated changes in the urban farming community in Surakarta, Indonesia, using the AIDP model analysis approach, surveying 50 community members. Results showed varying success rates across strategy stages; evaluation strategies like partnerships with local traders and financial institutions, vertical land use, and open dialogue performed poorly. Furthermore, improving financial literacy and sustainable waste management systems were unsuccessful, and agricultural product brand promotion and innovative institutional models also performed poorly.

A study in Margajaya Village, Bogor City, Indonesia, involving 94 households, analyzed factors influencing household decisions in implementing urban agriculture. It found that 87.23% of the community understood urban agriculture concepts, with the tabulampot system being the most applied method (51.22%). Household preferences, influenced by economic, environmental, and social aspects, and knowledge of urban agriculture positively affected decisions to implement urban agriculture.

A community service program implemented in Lubang Buaya Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta, in 2023 aimed to promote urban farming using used bottles to strengthen local food security. The program successfully improved participants' knowledge, skills, and insights in hydroponic plant cultivation, stimulated household-scale business development, and contributed to environmental improvement.

This 2023 qualitative study in Indonesia analyzed the characteristics of organic urban farming actors and their considerations for choosing irrigation systems. The majority of respondents were of productive age, had a high school education, and worked as civil servants, private sector employees, or entrepreneurs. Key considerations for selecting an irrigation type included complexity, time availability, and ease of implementation.

This study aimed to assess and rescale the scales and narratives of urban agriculture in South Korea to implement its multidimensional functions and values. Narratives from 1980 to 2022 were collected from related laws, plans, and research papers to analyze the definition of urban agriculture, the distinction between farmers and urban farmers, spatial scales, and functions and values. As a result, urban agriculture was redefined as agricultural production activities carried out by the public in urban agricultural spaces, spaces linked to urban agriculture, or spaces with urban agriculture contexts.
