This Community Service Program was conducted for the Flamboyan Dasawisma Group in Padaleu Village, Kambu District, Kendari City, Indonesia. The program was implemented through educational outreach on the benefits and application of urban farming, followed by hands-on mentoring in establishing an urban farming garden. Participants showed a positive response to the program and demonstrated high enthusiasm for cultivating vegetables using the urban farming system.

Agriculture in West Bengal, India, faces challenges including decreasing farm sizes, lack of modern farming knowledge, rural migration, and low farmer income. This research explores the design and development of an Urban Agricultural Skill Development Centre (UASDC) to bridge the gap between traditional and modern farming practices. The project proposes a self-sustaining model integrating skill training, marketplace access, and architectural design to enhance farmer income, promote environmental sustainability, and strengthen rural-urban linkages.

This community service program in Tangerang, Indonesia, aimed to enhance plant propagation knowledge and skills for 41 residents, particularly the Kecubung Women Farmers Group, to support family food security on limited yard space. The program addressed participants' lack of knowledge in vegetative and generative propagation and suitable plant selection. Through interactive lectures, discussions, and field practice, participants' average scores increased by 28.7 points (from 40.9 to 69.6) in pre- and post-tests. The program successfully improved participants' knowledge and skills, leading to increased initiative in developing productive yards and strengthening the Women Farmers Group's role in urban farming.

This article describes the concept of an urban farming center in Makassar City, Indonesia, as a prototype for urban farming development. It aims to address the lack of public knowledge on urban cultivation methods and the absence of dedicated architectural facilities for urban farming. The center would provide education and training to communities and farmer groups, supporting the equitable distribution of urban farming activities.

In Tambakredjo Village, Indonesia, the impact of participatory communication within PT. Saka Energi Muriah Limited's urban farming program was analyzed using a qualitative descriptive case study. Findings indicated that participatory communication contributed to increased community empowerment, self-confidence, and farming skills. Economically, the program strengthened food security and created new business opportunities, and social interaction in training strengthened relationships among residents.

A qualitative descriptive study in Kampung Ijo, Surabaya City, Indonesia, investigated women's empowerment through urban farming innovation. Focusing on three stages—awareness, capacity building, and empowerment—the study found that urban farming provided economic, social, and environmental benefits to the local community. However, limitations such as minimal local government support and technical challenges during the rainy season were also identified.

An ecopreneurship-based urban farming assistance program was implemented with the Karya Jaya 4 Farmers Group in Deket District, Indonesia, where agricultural land conversion reduced rice and fish production. The program provided training on hydroponic aquaponic systems and supported the construction of five backyard systems. This initiative increased participants' knowledge and skills, achieved an 85% success rate in system management, and contributed to increased household food production, income, and food security.

Unplanned urban growth in Jakarta has hindered social interaction and fostered individualism due to an imbalance in facilities, distance, and population. This paper proposes urban agriculture as an effective means to create new spaces for social interaction. By establishing an urban agricultural plot at TPA Ikhlasul Machfudz in South Jakarta and conducting community service and empowerment activities, the project successfully created a new interaction space for local residents, allowing participants to engage in productive activities and social interaction.

This program aimed to empower PKK women through urban farming in RT/RW 01/05, Rejosari Village, Semarang. The method involved socialization, training, direct assistance, and monitoring of urban farming practices. Participants cultivated various plants, including chili, eggplant, sweet potato, and melon, utilizing the produce for communal gardens and their homes. The program proved effective in improving family welfare in Rejosari Village.

This study analyzed the 'Potted Tomato Experiential Learning Group' program, applying Kolb's experiential learning theory and an SNS-based collaborative learning model. 700 elementary, middle, and high school students in Gyeonggi Province used tomato cultivation kits and online content to share their cultivation process and learning experiences on Instagram. Communication via SNS facilitated real-time feedback, information sharing, and peer interaction, which increased learning motivation and participation.

A community service activity on floating raft hydroponics was conducted in Pundung Gede, Surakarta, Indonesia, on August 17, 2024, with 15 PKK mothers. The initiative aimed to educate residents on urban farming methods to utilize limited urban land for vegetable cultivation, addressing their unfamiliarity with floating raft hydroponics. The activity successfully enabled many participants to understand and practice floating raft cultivation at home.

In Tambakrejo Village, Semarang City, Indonesia, a challenge exists due to the low human resource capacity in managing integrated urban farming. This program aims to enhance partners' capacity to develop an integrated farming system combining urban farming and aquaculture. As a result of the activities, the Tambakrejo farmer group received facilities such as rainwater harvesting installations, vertical gardens, various vegetable seeds, and compost, along with training on strengthening farmer group institutions and technological innovation in vegetable and fish cultivation through aquaponics.

This community service program at RPTRA Rasamala, South Jakarta, aimed to improve planting literacy and food production efficiency using mini-greenhouse optimization. Employing a participatory approach with Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Just-In-Time (JIT) techniques, the program reduced seedling growth time from 14 to 10 days, increased the production cycle by 38%, and cut water and fertilizer usage by 30%. Participants also gained technical understanding of organic planting media and harvest utilization for family nutrition.

A qualitative study at State Elementary School 2 Metro Timur, Indonesia, explored the use of the surrounding environment as a Social Studies learning resource. While school gardens and community activities were found to be contextual and meaningful, obstacles included time constraints, unpredictable weather, poor student coordination, and limited facilities. The study suggests that environment-based learning has the potential to improve conceptual understanding and social skills, but faces significant limitations.

A community service program implemented in Bendan Ngisor Village, Semarang City, Indonesia, aimed to enhance food security, reduce organic waste, and create new economic opportunities through hydroponic urban farming and eco-enzyme utilization. The program demonstrated increased knowledge and skills among residents in waste management and food cultivation on limited land, supporting sustainable household economies. The integration of hydroponics and eco-enzymes proved to be an effective solution for urban food and environmental issues.

This study investigated the efforts of PKBM Satria Tama Purwokerto, an equivalency education institution established in 2006, which serves 92 students and 8 tutors. The institution provides academic programs and skills training, including fish farming and urban agriculture. Field research, using interviews, observation, and documentation with administrators, tutors, and students, showed that PKBM Satria Tama plays a significant role in expanding educational access for communities unable to attend formal education. The implemented training programs were proven to increase students' economic independence and environmental awareness.

A one-day urban farming training program was conducted at the Tat Twam Asi Orphanage in Indonesia to enhance children's urban cultivation skills and knowledge. The program, which included theory and practical sessions, successfully taught basic urban farming concepts and techniques. Participants demonstrated good application of learned techniques and a deep understanding of urban farming's importance for food security, as evidenced by pre- and post-test questionnaires.

This study explored the social innovation model of the Agroeduwisata Jayakarta program implemented by PT ANTAM Tbk UBPP Logam Mulia to address urban problems in the Jatinegara Kaum area, such as ineffective waste management, shrinking agricultural land, unemployment, and underutilized religious tourism potential. Using a qualitative case study method, data was collected from interviews and internal reports. The findings indicate that the Agroeduwisata program provides benefits beyond environmental sustainability, also empowering local communities and preserving Jakarta's cultural heritage through organic and inorganic waste management, urban farming development, SMEs, and spiritual tourism.

This community service program used Participatory Action Research to enhance the capacity of the Seruni Women Farmer Group (KWT Seruni) in urban farming and hydroponics. Evaluation showed a 12% improvement in participants' understanding, and technological implementation led to 1,500 high-quality seedlings and an 18.4 kg pakcoy harvest. The program strengthened technical competence, fostered independent skill application, and generated socio-economic benefits like increased household income and strengthened women's roles in agriculture.

This community service initiative in Southeast Pontianak District, West Kalimantan, empowered 48 local residents through participatory training in hydroponics and verticulture. Post-training evaluation showed 77.1% (n=37) of participants actively practiced urban farming within three months, with 37.8% sustaining practices for 4-6 months. The results demonstrate increased community awareness, technical capacity, and adoption of sustainable urban farming practices.

The "Character Garden Program" was developed in Indihiang District, Tasikmalaya City, Indonesia, to integrate character education through school garden-based learning. Using a Participatory Action Research approach, 39 teachers from seven elementary schools participated in training and module development. Teachers' understanding of character education integration significantly increased (pre-test 61.05 to 77.24, p < 0.001), and students showed increased responsible behavior (2.61 to 3.40) and mutual cooperation (2.63 to 3.36).

A community service program implemented in Ubung Village, Indonesia, aimed to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability through the effective use of organic fertilizers. The Jelita Women Farmers Group and the broader community received one week of hands-on training in organic fertilizer management and sustainable farming practices. After a 30-day evaluation, significant improvements were observed in soil fertility, crop yields, and community participation, with harvest results for crops like vegetables, chilies, and melons markedly better than pre-training levels.

The "Garden of Well-Being" program was implemented in Karang Taruna Kelurahan Gebangsari, Indonesia, to build youth leadership capacity through an integrated approach of urban farming and psychosocial prevention. The program addressed food security and mental health issues among urban youth, offering mental health socialization, urban farming training, and entrepreneurship training. Participants showed positive responses, enthusiasm for urban farming, and new entrepreneurial initiatives.

A Community Service Program (KKN) implemented in Candinegoro Village, Indonesia, focused on the socialisation and application of micro-scale catfish farming technology to support food security through city farming initiatives. This qualitative descriptive study used a participatory method, with students acting as facilitators, trainers, and companions for the community. The results showed a significant increase in community knowledge and practical skills in fish farming, alongside strengthened awareness of sustainable urban farming practices.
