This research analyzes the sustainability efforts and educational initiatives adopted by Selarasa - Jagakarsa Food Lab, a peri-urban agriculture initiative in Jakarta, Indonesia, in the context of commoning practices. It investigates resource management, technological innovations, and the contribution of educational initiatives, such as the 'Kultum' (Kuliah Tumbuhan) series, to community knowledge and engagement. The study aims to evaluate the ecological, economic, and social impacts of commoning and document educational initiatives for transferring urban agriculture knowledge, with the goal of identifying challenges and opportunities to improve commoning practices.

This study analyzed urban farming as an innovative strategy in public management in Kutai Kartanegara. Using a qualitative methodology based on a literature review, it identified the opportunities, challenges, and impacts of urban farming implementation. The findings indicate that policy support, training, and stakeholder involvement are key to success, demonstrating a collaborative model among government, community, and the private sector to achieve social, economic, and environmental sustainability.

This study analyzed the performance of Women's Farmer Groups (KWT) in Bogor City, Indonesia, by comparing the Weighted Product (WP) and Composite Performance Index (CPI) methods and designing a Geographic Information System (GIS) to map KWT distribution. Using 2022 KWT data, the Mean Square Error (MSE) method was used to compare accuracy. The results showed CPI had an MSE of 0.3, while WP had 0.8, indicating CPI is more accurate. KWT Ciharashas achieved the highest rank (V = 0.0242 for WP and CPI = 66.60).

This study investigated community participation in urban agriculture programs within the Kosagrha Lestari farmer group in Medokan Ayu Village, Surabaya City, Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative method with observation, interviews, and documentation, the research found that community participation in the Kosagrha Lestari urban agriculture program has been going well. However, not all residents are involved, particularly concerning food security in Medokan Ayu Village.

This service program aimed to strengthen the Surya Makmur Farmer Group in Suryowijayan Village, Yogyakarta, which consists mostly of urban housewives, by increasing their motivation and knowledge of institutional functions. The program, conducted in three stages (preparation, implementation, and evaluation), resulted in an increase in group members' motivation and understanding of institutional roles.

This Community Service Program was conducted for the Flamboyan Dasawisma Group in Padaleu Village, Kambu District, Kendari City, Indonesia. The program was implemented through educational outreach on the benefits and application of urban farming, followed by hands-on mentoring in establishing an urban farming garden. Participants showed a positive response to the program and demonstrated high enthusiasm for cultivating vegetables using the urban farming system.

Agriculture in West Bengal, India, faces challenges including decreasing farm sizes, lack of modern farming knowledge, rural migration, and low farmer income. This research explores the design and development of an Urban Agricultural Skill Development Centre (UASDC) to bridge the gap between traditional and modern farming practices. The project proposes a self-sustaining model integrating skill training, marketplace access, and architectural design to enhance farmer income, promote environmental sustainability, and strengthen rural-urban linkages.

This study, conducted from February to December 2021, investigated women's implementation of urban agriculture in Tasikmalaya, Indonesia, involving 250 participants from 136 urban farming collectives. Despite 100% institutional support, urban farming faced significant challenges in market access, resource allocation, and regulatory frameworks. The findings highlighted the importance of urban farming for empowering women, reducing poverty, and promoting environmental sustainability.

This study examined the socio-economic viability and sustainability of vegetable cultivation in urban clusters, specifically the Narkara belt of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. Analyzing primary data from 60 urban vegetable growers and market functionaries, the research found that vegetable farming substantially contributes to household income and nutrition. It also suggests that institutional support and market reforms could enhance its performance, proposing recommendations for urban agricultural policy.

This article describes the concept of an urban farming center in Makassar City, Indonesia, as a prototype for urban farming development. The center would provide education and training to communities and farmer groups, supporting the equitable distribution of urban farming activities.

In Tambakredjo Village, Indonesia, the impact of participatory communication within PT. Saka Energi Muriah Limited's urban farming program was analyzed using a qualitative descriptive case study. Findings indicated that participatory communication contributed to increased community empowerment, self-confidence, and farming skills. Economically, the program strengthened food security and created new business opportunities, and social interaction in training strengthened relationships among residents.

A qualitative descriptive study in Kampung Ijo, Surabaya City, Indonesia, investigated women's empowerment through urban farming innovation. Focusing on three stages—awareness, capacity building, and empowerment—the study found that urban farming provided economic, social, and environmental benefits to the local community. However, limitations such as minimal local government support and technical challenges during the rainy season were also identified.

An ecopreneurship-based urban farming assistance program was implemented with the Karya Jaya 4 Farmers Group in Deket District, Indonesia, where agricultural land conversion reduced rice and fish production. The program provided training on hydroponic aquaponic systems and supported the construction of five backyard systems. This initiative increased participants' knowledge and skills, achieved an 85% success rate in system management, and contributed to increased household food production, income, and food security.

Unplanned urban growth in Jakarta has hindered social interaction and fostered individualism due to an imbalance in facilities, distance, and population. This paper proposes urban agriculture as an effective means to create new spaces for social interaction. By establishing an urban agricultural plot at TPA Ikhlasul Machfudz in South Jakarta and conducting community service and empowerment activities, the project successfully created a new interaction space for local residents, allowing participants to engage in productive activities and social interaction.

Urban aquaculture, defined as fish farming in limited spaces, requires a stable electricity supply. Utilizing Indonesia's abundant sunlight, the system considers solar cell-based electricity generation to help urban residents sustainably meet food needs and enhance food security.

This program aimed to empower PKK women through urban farming in RT/RW 01/05, Rejosari Village, Semarang. The method involved socialization, training, direct assistance, and monitoring of urban farming practices. Participants cultivated various plants, including chili, eggplant, sweet potato, and melon, utilizing the produce for communal gardens and their homes. The program proved effective in improving family welfare in Rejosari Village.

This study analyzed the 'Potted Tomato Experiential Learning Group' program, applying Kolb's experiential learning theory and an SNS-based collaborative learning model. 700 elementary, middle, and high school students in Gyeonggi Province used tomato cultivation kits and online content to share their cultivation process and learning experiences on Instagram. Communication via SNS facilitated real-time feedback, information sharing, and peer interaction, which increased learning motivation and participation.

A community service activity on floating raft hydroponics was conducted in Pundung Gede, Surakarta, Indonesia, on August 17, 2024, with 15 PKK mothers. The initiative aimed to educate residents on urban farming methods to utilize limited urban land for vegetable cultivation, addressing their unfamiliarity with floating raft hydroponics. The activity successfully enabled many participants to understand and practice floating raft cultivation at home.

In Tambakrejo Village, Semarang City, Indonesia, a challenge exists due to the low human resource capacity in managing integrated urban farming. This program aims to enhance partners' capacity to develop an integrated farming system combining urban farming and aquaculture. As a result of the activities, the Tambakrejo farmer group received facilities such as rainwater harvesting installations, vertical gardens, various vegetable seeds, and compost, along with training on strengthening farmer group institutions and technological innovation in vegetable and fish cultivation through aquaponics.

This community service program at RPTRA Rasamala, South Jakarta, aimed to improve planting literacy and food production efficiency using mini-greenhouse optimization. Employing a participatory approach with Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Just-In-Time (JIT) techniques, the program reduced seedling growth time from 14 to 10 days, increased the production cycle by 38%, and cut water and fertilizer usage by 30%. Participants also gained technical understanding of organic planting media and harvest utilization for family nutrition.

A qualitative study at State Elementary School 2 Metro Timur, Indonesia, explored the use of the surrounding environment as a Social Studies learning resource. While school gardens and community activities were found to be contextual and meaningful, obstacles included time constraints, unpredictable weather, poor student coordination, and limited facilities. The study suggests that environment-based learning has the potential to improve conceptual understanding and social skills, but faces significant limitations.

This study examined urban horticulture practices, socio-economic benefits, and constraints among 51 respondents from 5 southern states in India. Respondents spent 1-5 hours daily on urban horticulture, primarily for chemical-free food (92%) and stress relief (69%). After adopting urban farming, 67% reduced market visits to 1-2 times, and 33% to 3-5 times, with monthly savings ranging from Rs.200/- to Rs.1000/- per individual. Major challenges identified were pest infestation (35.29%), space limitations (27.45%), and knowledge gaps (23.53%).

A community service program implemented in Bendan Ngisor Village, Semarang City, Indonesia, aimed to enhance food security, reduce organic waste, and create new economic opportunities through hydroponic urban farming and eco-enzyme utilization. The program demonstrated increased knowledge and skills among residents in waste management and food cultivation on limited land, supporting sustainable household economies. The integration of hydroponics and eco-enzymes proved to be an effective solution for urban food and environmental issues.

This study investigated the efforts of PKBM Satria Tama Purwokerto, an equivalency education institution established in 2006, which serves 92 students and 8 tutors. The institution provides academic programs and skills training, including fish farming and urban agriculture. Field research, using interviews, observation, and documentation with administrators, tutors, and students, showed that PKBM Satria Tama plays a significant role in expanding educational access for communities unable to attend formal education. The implemented training programs were proven to increase students' economic independence and environmental awareness.

This study addressed the challenge of continuous organic fertilizer supply for the 30-member Seruni Women's Farming Group (KWT) in Indonesia, which practices urban farming. It implemented domestic organic waste processing using BSF larvae (maggot) bioconversion technology to produce compost. The activity, conducted through lectures, discussions, and practical training, found strong local government support and high enthusiasm from KWT members and the community, successfully improving their understanding of waste processing for compost production.
